Encouragement to boost and enhance the local economy

The regional director of Agriculture and Rural Development, Marco Caldeira, accompanied by the director of Rurality services, Carla Fernandes, visited the facilities of the Doce Cereja pastry shop, owned by Anabela Pestana and Sérgio Pereira.

This establishment, located in Jardim da Serra, sells bread and a variety of pastries, but also pizzas, all of them made in-house and artisanal, offering traditional suggestions, but often surprising with innovative ingredients. Over the last few years, it has gained prominence for the cakes it makes for a wide range of special celebrations.

It currently employs 13 workers, but intends to soon open a traditional bakery, in order to preserve and enhance regional bread, using cereals produced nearby in its preparation, thus maintaining the decision taken from the beginning, already 13 years, whenever possible, purchasing raw materials from producers who are closest, contributing to the dynamization and enhancement of the local economy and with significant social and environmental benefits.
