The 50th Funchal Book Fair has started

The 50th edition of the Funchal Book Fair is now open, taking place between Avenida Arriaga and Teatro Municipal Baltazar Dias until March 10, with a vast program honoring the history of the event, Madeiran authors, booksellers and readers.

Valter Hugo Mãe, Paulo de Carvalho, Tiago Nacarato, Pedro Chagas Freitas, Elisa, the Madeiran band Napa, among others, make up a program that involves more than 150 artists, with four installations planned in public space, 10 book launches with the support of the CMF, 12 book presentations and 41 autograph sessions.

As already announced, 10 representatives of artists’ books, author’s books and independent editions will be present, to be discovered in the Baltazar Dias atrium, as well as 26 booksellers and publishers, with stands distributed along the central sign on Avenida Arriaga.

The fair includes three street entertainments, four installations in public spaces, 13 concerts, eight shows and two cinema sessions.The 50th Funchal Book Fair has started
