Wind prevents helicopter from rescuing tourist in Ponta do Pargo

The Regional Civil Protection Service helicopter that had been activated to rescue a tourist who slipped and fell on Vereda do Pesqueiro, in Ponta do Pargo, was unable to carry out the rescue successfully due to the wind that was felt in the area.

The commander of the Calheta Volunteer Fire Department was forced to reinforce resources, as the foreign route is almost at the end of the route, around three hours from the main road.

14 members of the Calheta Volunteer Fire Department are now involved in this rescue. The woman, of German nationality, has a suspected fracture in her foot.
