‘Food Bank’ collects food from supermarkets in Madeira on the 25th and 26th of May

The regional delegation of the Food Bank Against Hunger promotes, on the 25th and 26th of May, the collection of food in supermarkets in the Region, in what is usually called the ‘Saco Campaign’. During these two days, volunteers will be at the entrance to the stores of the main supermarket chains to raise awareness among the population of the importance of their contribution, while at the same time collecting donated food.

In a note sent to the newsrooms, the Madeira Food Bank points out that, between the 23rd of May and the 2nd of June, the ‘Ajuda Vale’ campaign will also take place, with the vouchers containing some essential food products for sale at supermarket checkouts, products these will later be delivered to the Food Bank. 

“At the same time, the ‘Online Campaign’ is taking place, on the same dates, where donations of food products can be made via the website www.alimentestaideia.pt “, says the institution.
