Hotel Rancho Madeirense left to decay

It could perfectly be an image taken from a film, but it is a hidden treasure, in Santana, flanked by the green and dense vegetation of Pico das Pedras. Next to Levada do Caldeirão Verde, the picturesque place may even go unnoticed by those who pass by, although it is sure to enchant anyone with its magical beauty.

Left to its own degradation a decade ago, the complex, which is curiously built in a triangular shape, is made up of 15 two-story bungalows in the style of typical Santana houses.

The place has been left to rot, and vegetation has taken over. Such a shame, as this could be a great investment in the climate with the amount of tourists visiting the island.
