The strong wind that is felt this Friday at Madeira Airport has already caused ten flights to divert.
The first flight to be diverted was from the airline TAP, coming from Porto, which was scheduled to arrive in the Region at 7:50 am. The easyJet plane, from Porto, which was scheduled to arrive at 8:20 am also failed to land, as did the TAP plane, from Lisbon, which was scheduled to arrive at 8:30 am.
The one who also had to look for another airport was the Ryanair plane, coming from Porto, which was supposed to land here at 8:30 am, the EasyJet plane coming from Lisbon and scheduled to arrive at 9 am, the Transavia plane, coming from Paris, which was supposed to arrive in Madeira at 9:05 am, the JET2 plane, from London, scheduled to arrive at 9:50 am and another Transavia plane, from Amsterdam, scheduled to arrive at 10:30 am.
The easyJet plane, from Mancherter, still tried to make it to the runway, but was equally diverted and was unable to land at 11am, as was the JET2 plane, also from Manchester.
The Binter plane remains at the Porto Santo Airport apron and has not yet been able to return to Madeira due to the strong wind, which has already reached 70 km/h, at 7:30 am.
