A fishing boat is causing outrage among people who frequent the beach next to the Santa Cruz pier this morning. Bathers complain that the presence of the boat in the area reserved for bathing is compromising safety and adequate conditions for them to swim.
According to the images and videos sent to DIÁRIO by citizens, the vessel is seen a few meters from the shore, casting nets and fishing equipment, which is generating a climate of tension and revolt among those present.
Although testimonies indicate that the Maritime Police have already been contacted to attend the scene, when contacted by DIÁRIO, Rui Teixeira, the regional commander of the Madeira Maritime Police, guarantees that he has not yet received any information about the incident.
