So nice to see this place restored and being used again.
Fifty years was how long the Butter factory in Estreito da Calheta was abandoned. During this period, several suggestions were made. However, in 2010, a foreign couple bought the building and rebuilt it as a home. The architectural project was carried out by Bruno Martins, who recalls that the renovation received some attention in the professional community, having been nominated for the Archdaily awards, where it was one of the five finalists. It also won another award from the magazine ‘Construir’, in the renovation category. The topic deserves to be highlighted today in the section Lembra-se (Remembers) that appears in the printed edition of JM. By mistake, we wrote that the space is located in Fajã da Ovelha. For this reason, we apologize to our readers and those concerned.
