A video filmed in Madeira is circulating on social media and is leaving internet users astonished by the danger, but also by the beauty of the images of a mountain cliff in São Vicente.
In the images, we can see the Juncos Stadium and the swimming pools in the background, in a chilling landscape. However, experts in the field reveal that the footage is shot in 360º, which gives the illusion of walking along the edge of the cliff, when in fact it is further away. Others claim that it is real.
The beautiful images and the danger this man goes through as he walks along part of a mountain cliff in São Vicente are true. Judging by his attire, he appears to be a tourist who is passionate about trail running and the mountains.
The Jornal Madeira failed to realise this is Jackson Groves , a professional hiker and adventure seeker, who spent over a year in Madeira during the Covid pandemic. Jackson is now a resident on the island, living on the south west , and works with Madeira Tourism.
The camera is indeed a 360° and makes the cliff look a lot narrower, but it is very high.
This is the same area that the two French tourists would have fallen from earlier this year.
