Today there are 19 new positive cases of covid-19 to report. These are three cases imported from the United Kingdom and 16 cases of local transmission, most of which are already associated with contacts or contexts of previously identified positive cases.
About the confirmed cases today, there are: four in the area of education, three children aged between 4 and 10 years who attend educational establishments in the municipalities of Machico and Santa Cruz and one adult with professional activity in another educational establishment in the municipality of Machico. The contingency plan for these establishments is already active.
Three cases are related to the health area, identified within the scope of intra-hospital screening, namely two patients hospitalized at SESARAM, EPERAM and a health professional assigned to the public service and the private sector. The contingency plan for the respective services is active and the epidemiological investigation is ongoing.
