At about 10.30pm there was a serious accident on Estrada das Carreiras, just below the well-known Bar 21.
Apparently, it was a hit-and-run accident.
A light car allegedly ran over a man who was traveling on a bicycle.
The victim has several open fractures and is awaiting the arrival of rescue teams.
