The religious ceremonies scheduled for today as part of the Feast of the Blessed Sacrament in the parish of Curral das Freiras have been cancelled. According to Father João Gonçalves, only one mass will be celebrated at eight o’clock in the evening, and if conditions permit. Otherwise, this Eucharist will not be celebrated.
As for tomorrow, nothing has been decided yet. According to the parish priest, all programming, including the mass and procession, will also be cancelled if the situation on the ground remains the same.
Regarding the situation of the people there, he says that for now, nothing is missing. They have food, shelter and all the conditions to wait safely.
