The flames are relentless in Serra de Água and the fire continues to descend into the Ameixeira valley, towards the mouth of the Encumeada tunnel.
At the moment, the fire is getting closer and closer to Palheiros and some country houses and could even threaten the remodeled Serra de Água Power Station.
Several firefighters are on site, but the flames are in an area that is difficult to access.
The helicopter was deployed to another area.
