An earthquake measuring 2.1 on the Richter scale was recorded on Monday night south of Câmara de Lobos.
According to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), the earthquake occurred at 9:48 pm yesterday, February 17.
The tremor will not have been felt by the population.
