The 66th Volta à Cidade do Funchal had around 5,400 athletes at the start of the 5.85 km race. The winner was Nuno Pereira, a Madeiran athlete from Sporting CP, who completed the course in 17 minutes and 10 seconds, repeating his victory from 2023.
Joana Soares, from Jardim da Serra, won in the women’s category.
They have also had the Soa Silvestre Race here in Porto, which I believe is 10km around the city. Amy Klein got a great photo.
