Madeira’s first hostel will open in the old town of Funchal in April.
The listed building is being fully renovated, and will have space for 50 beds.
Santa Maria Hostel will have a range of shared rooms, doubles and en-suites, bringing a different type of accommodation to Madeira, and will be very popular to the younger generation visiting the island.
The owner Marcio Nobrega already owns the popular Poncha bar Venda Velha , and 2 other bar/restaurants in the lido area of Funchal.
Its so nice to see these old buildings in the old town being restored, and I look forward to seeing it in April, and share more photos with you.
