  5. Hi Tobi I just wanted to say how invaluable your up to date info has been to us in UK who were due to come out to beautiful Maderia we cancelled our trip this time but hope it won’t be too long before we can come back. Take care and stay safe and thanks again.

  7. We are hoping to be back on Wednesday. We have only been in UK for a week and have not gone to any social gatherings. One of the contributors to your blog has already offered to shop and leave stuff in the apartment .

    1. I think if will be very unlikely you will return, as I think they will close the airport. Not sure if they will even fly residents once they do that. Anyone with any ideas.???

  8. I’ve got a flight booked on Friday to Madeira only to pick up my little son and back to Manchester on Saturday will I need to stay in quarentine??

  9. What a good soul you are Tobi. So good to keep us all in touch and be so helpful to Madeirans. Hope we can all get back to normal as soon as poss. I think Madeira is handling the situation very well, wish I could say the same for uK. tAKE Carel stay safe.

    You may be referring to panic buying etc but this is happening all over Europe as I have been informed by my extended family.
    Many people in my county have formed assistance groups for the infirm and elderly.
    I think to tarnish everyone in the UK is OTT !
    Tobi as always your doing and providing a great service to the local community and keeping us who love the island informed

Response to Zoe Ferriera – in the response to your question about arriving to collect your son and having to go into quarantine, in the email I received this evening from the government about the quarantine conditions it states the following: In addition, we inform that tourists, in quarantine, can interrupt it only in the event, and at the moment, of repatriation to their countries of origin, where the remaining days of this regime must continue. I hope you manage to retrieve your son and carry on with your plans.
