A proper coffee at last.

Restaurants and bars are allowed to open all over the island as of today.

I was expecting many places to be really busy, but this wasn’t the case. It’s been 9 long weeks and apart from the odd takeaway coffee, I finally had coffee in Garajau this morning and it was very quiet with only a few people about, but it was great to be able to sit down and enjoy my two coffees and a bit of breakfast.

  3. Happy to see your happy. That’s a nice place in Garajau. Been there a few times. Will be back there very soon I think. At the moment simply enjoying the same here in Ajuda.

  5. Hi Toby, hope you enjoyed. This afternoon we visited Barracuda Bar/restaurant (above Pingo Doce Supermarket, Lido) where the owners, Dino and Luisa, were happy to see us on their first day of opening. They have quite a few outside tables, socially distanced of course. Excellent menu and very reasonably priced.

    Also a few doors along – Mary Bottier shoe shop has been open for a couple of weeks and would be delighted to see anyone who is looking for sandals/shoes – both ladies and mens shoes available.

    Think it is very important to support local businesses at this difficult time.

  14. I wish I was there to have a coffee and cake in my favourite cafe Mariazinho. I am in Scotland and don`t know when we will be able to come back to enjoy your wonderful food and wine (and rum).
