Madeira is nominated, for the seventh time, for Best Island Destination in Europe at the World Travel Awards, competing with 11 other world-renowned destinations.
Until August 17th, when voting ends, APM will be showing the region’s strengths and inviting all enthusiasts for these unique islands to vote for them. In addition to the national market, this disclosure will occur in more than 10 countries, taking into account the main sending markets for Madeira. In addition to posts and stories on Facebook and Instagram, as well as bumper ads, the promotion is also supported by two videos: one directed to a younger audience, to Instagram and the other directed to a more comprehensive generation, through Facebook.
“Being nominated for the seventh time fills us with pride and we intend with this disclosure to reach the markets that best know the Madeira archipelago, thus appealing to the massive voting of the destination”, says Nuno Vale, executive director of the Madeira Promotion Association. “The awards that the destination has received prove the quality of Madeira and Porto Santo’s offer as a tourist destination of world excellence and have proved to be an excellent communication tool that, more than ever, will help Destino to consolidate its positioning , the moment it opens doors to tourists again ”.
It should be remembered that Madeira has already been elected 6 times the Best Island Destination in Europe and that, since 2013, it has only won in 2015. It was also considered the Best Island Destination in the World in the last five years. Last year, Madeira hosted the award ceremony for the World Travel Awards in Europe, which took place on 8 June. This year, the gala will only take place on September 28 in Antalya, Turkey.
