Jet2 shifts October capacity to Greece and Madeira

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have reacted to the government’s travel ban to Turkey by adding more flights to Corfu, Kos, Rhodes and Madeira for October.

Seventy flights have been added to the four destinations, representing over 13,000 additional seats.

Most flights are weekend services, with 25 additional flights to Rhodes from Birmingham, East Midlands, Leeds Bradford, Manchester, Newcastle and Stansted and 20 extra flights to Kos from Birmingham, East Midlands, Leeds Bradford, Manchester and Newcastle.

Fifteen flights have been added to Corfu, from East Midlands, Leeds Bradford, Manchester and Newcastle, while nine have been added to Madeira, from Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester and Newcastle.

The operator said it had responded quickly to meet demand from people who were still keen to get away for a late summer break.

Jet2 CEO Steve Heapy said: “There has been a significant spike in demand to Corfu, Kos, Rhodes and Madeira. Customers are telling us loud and clear that they want to escape the gloom and enjoy a well-earned break, and we know these extra flights will book up very quickly.”
