Bad weather on the way

Get ready for a wet start to next week, with bad weather on the way for days 4th, 5th and 6th, with heavy rain in the archipelago. If there is no change in the route, Madeira and particularly the south coast of the island will be greatly affected by rain next Monday, reveals the weather portal Windy.com. With a few days to go, the storm could change defeat and save the Region. Listening to Vítor Prior, who says that bad weather will also affect Madeira at 5th and 6th, but as we are still five days from the beginning, it is too early to be talking about forecasts and the intensity with which the rain will fall or where its going to concentrate.

According to current Windy forecasts, the heavy rain should start as early as 1 am on the 4th, intensifying the volume of water falling per square meter over the hours. The most critical phase should take place between 5 am and 10 am on the south coast of Madeira, with the storm heading towards Porto Santo, where it will register considerable levels after 11 am.

However, it is important to remember that until then, much can change. “Until then it is still possible for things to change, in this five days the system may lose some strength and reach the Region with less intensity and the precipitation will not be so much”, he recalls.

The delegate of the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) in Madeira and director of the Meteorological Observatory of Funchal explains that the harsh conditions of those days result from the joining of two to three depressions. “That the wind will be from the Southwest when the depression passes, coming from the Northwest. They are frontal depressions that will pass to the North of Madeira ”.

Regarding the concentration of rain in the south, Vítor Prior explains that it can be on the south coast, as it can be on the entire island. “The situation is complex enough, it can rain a lot at any point”. “It starts on the 4th, 5th and 6th are three days. It will rain a lot, the amount of water in large periods should be significant”, I continue.

If the situation is confirmed and is a reason for doing so, appropriate weather warnings.
