INCONCLUSIVE TEST CANCELS INAUGURATION OF LIDAR IN MADEIRA

The inconclusive result of the test carried out on the continent, at covid-19, by one of those responsible who would be this Monday at the inauguration of the new LIDAR – an optical remote sensing technology that measures properties of the reflected light in order to obtain the distance and / or other information about a certain distant object – led to the cancellation of the event.

The inauguration of the new LIDAR was scheduled for 3 pm on Monday, December 28, at Cristiano Ronaldo International Airport and was part of the agenda of the president of the Regional Government, Miguel Albuquerque.

Despite this cancellation, Miguel Albuquerque keeps the remaining commitments for this day. At 12 noon, he will visit the new IPMA meteorological station, installed in the headquarters building of the Civil Protection Service, Cancela and, at 4 pm, he will be at the airport to attend the departure ceremony of the military contingent that, in RG3, was being prepared for another military mission abroad.
