The Regional Health Directorate today reveals the existence of 17 new positive cases for Madeira, counting a total of 1,147 cases of infection with the new coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic.
This is 1 case imported from Italy and 16 cases of local transmission, associated with contacts or contexts of previously identified positive cases.
Regarding the cases confirmed today, there are 2 positive cases in the health area, in the case of 2 health professionals identified within the scope of the in-hospital screening carried out at SESARAM. Epidemiological research is still ongoing.
In total, there are 305 active cases, of which 68 are imported cases and 237 are cases of local transmission. Regarding the residence of active cases, 40 are non-residents and 265 are residents of the RAM.
There are another 19 recovered patients today.
There are also 131 new situations that are being studied by the health authorities, all related to contacts with positive cases, situations reported to the SRS24 line or by SESARAM.
To date, the Region accounts for a total of 7 deaths.
