Today there are 5 new positive cases to report, so RAM now counts 206 active cases of COVID-19 in the regional territory. This is 1 case imported from Spain and 4 cases of local transmission, mostly associated with previously identified positive case contexts and contacts. Contacts for 1 of the cases are now under investigation
Also today, there are 10 more recovered cases to report. The region now accounts for 592 cases recovered from COVID-19.
Note from the Regional Secretariat for Health and Civil Protection, on the epidemiological situation of the pandemic in Madeira, states that with regard to the active surveillance of positive case contacts, 1392 people are being accompanied by the health authorities of the various municipalities of Madeira and Porto Holy. Regarding the surveillance of travelers, 5941 people are also being accompanied by the authorities, using the MadeiraSafe application.
In total, there are 119 new situations that are currently being studied by the health authorities, 1 from the Madeira airport screening operation and 118 related to contacts with positive cases, situations reported to the SRS24 line or by SESARAM, EPERAM. Epidemiological investigations are ongoing.
