24 cases of Covid-19 were detected among users of the Atalaia Continuing Care Unit. The testing, using rapid antigen tests, was carried out after a first case was identified yesterday in one of the 226 users.
All infected remain asymptomatic and have been placed in isolation. If there is no change in their health status, they must remain in the unit. The situation is being monitored by the health authorities.
The information was conveyed by the management of this unit, through a communication sent to the newsrooms. In that document, they clarify that, after identifying the first user with Covid-19, “immediately all the containment and mitigation measures provided for in the advanced phase of the Living Care Contingency Plan were activated, with a view to ensuring maximum protection and safeguarding of users not infected, with the creation of areas of isolation and contingency within the Unit “.
With the activation of the advanced contingency phase, the testing plan provides for rapid antigen tests every 3 days for all users, as well as employees, with a view to ensuring high infection contention through early diagnosis.
The relatives of all infected users have already been properly informed by the clinical team. To the relatives of the remaining users, the administration asks them to “remain calm, certain that we are making every effort to mitigate the contagion situation at the Atalaia Continuing Care Unit”.
Until yesterday, 4 cases had been diagnosed in employees of this unit.
