Hospital Particular in São Martinho Funchal have just sent me this. It looks like they do the Covid Testing 7 days a week.

  1. 125 € seems good value. Prices for a PCR in UK vary but £150 to £175 is fairly normal.

    If unwell can recommend from personal experience using Hospital Particular. Never mind its stunning architecture and 5 * interior! Doctors and nurses and all staff are super and waiting times are brief. We turned up as outpatients without an appointment on each occasion. Prices are remarkably reasonable.

    One does not go on holiday to get unwell but its great to have such a superb place to go to when needed ! We found quite a few staff who had gained some of their medical experience in the UK.

  2. I agree, I did a PCR test there before I left Madeira for Germany. The test was carried out professionally, the test result was available after only 9 hours. All in all very good!

  3. According to grant shapps the minister in charge you will not need the PCT test specifically as the lateral flow test or LAMP test will be acceptable for return to UK
    This will be much cheaper with a very short period for the result which is good news for tourists returning home
