Madeira registers 156 more cases of covid-19 this Thursday

This Thursday, Madeira registers 156 more positive cases of covid-19. These new cases concern two citizens from the North of Portugal and one from Poland. The remaining 153 new cases refer to local transmission, most of which are already associated with contacts or contexts of positive cases.

The epidemiological bulletin of the Regional Health Directorate also indicates 90 recovered, so there are now 1,831 active cases of covid-19 in the Region.

Among the active cases, there are 67 people hospitalized (63 people in Multipurpose Units and 4 in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to covid-19), 44 people are isolated in a dedicated hotel unit and the rest remain in isolation at home.

There are also 31 deaths recorded as of this Thursday.

However, there are 271 new situations that are currently being studied by health authorities. These are related to contacts with positive cases, situations reported to the SRS24 line or to SESARAM.

With regard to the active surveillance of contacts with positive cases, 2,231 people are being monitored by the health authorities. in addition, 4,184 travelers are also being accompanied by the authorities, using the MadeiraSafe application.

PCR tests for covid-19 testing performed in RAM:

In the context of the operation of testing travelers in the ports and airports of RAM, a cumulative total of 150,401 samples for testing if Covid-19 carried out until 6 pm today, this is from when testing started at the beginning of the pandemic.
