Today there are 125 new cases of coronavirus in Madeira.
These are 6 imported cases and 119 cases of local transmission, most of them already associated with contacts or contexts of positive cases.
This Saturday there were 86 more recovered cases to report, 1913 being now the active cases and there are still 280 suspected cases.
The number of hospitalized patients increased significantly: yesterday there were 74 and today there are 84 people, 80 of them in the Multipurpose Unit and 4 in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to covid-19.
There was also one more death to register.
A 86-year-old man died today at Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça, with covid-19.
The patient had been admitted to the covid-19 Polyvalent Unit since January 21, and had associated comorbidities, according to a statement from the regional health authority, which addresses condolences to the family.
There are 32 deaths in the Region associated with covid-19.
