VACCINATED MAN ADMITTED TO THE COVID UNIT

An elderly man is hospitalized at the Covid-19 Multipurpose Unit of Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça, infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, allegedly after being given his first vaccine.

According to a hospital source revealed to JM, the elderly person will have been vaccinated on January 12th with the first dose of Pfizer vaccine, after being admitted to a home in Funchal on January 9th.

At that time, he had no symptoms related to the pandemic disease. However, on January 16, Saturday, the individual felt bad during the night and will have developed symptoms related to the Sars-Cov-2 virus, was treated while at home and later transported to the emergency department of Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça still that day, already in a very weak state.

After arriving at the emergency department, in a situation considered serious, he was observed by the medical team, who soon transferred him to the Covid Intensive Care Unit, where he is hospitalized with a reserved prognosis.

  1. This looks to be a case of unfortunate timing. When you get the first jab it takes a couple of weeks for the body’s immune system to have fully developed the expected 70% immunity. When you are exposed to a sufficient level of Covid it takes up to 14 days for it to fully establish itself.

    In this case it looks likely that he became exposed to Covid. A test showed him negative and then he received the jab just as the damned virus developed. So unlucky for him but at least having the vaccine inside him let’s hope it helps him recover.

    1. I dare say some stupid anti-vaxxers will latch on to this story but, I feel my comment above explains to likely scenario.

      Anti-vaxxers and those who claim it is a hoax should be forced onto a Covid ward of a hospital to see the suffering. Oh, and they should not have any ppe when it happens. Then watch the looks on their faces.

      2. Unfortunately due to the timing, it is entirely possible that he was exposed to Covid at the time he received the vaccine

        This would seem particularly likely if he had been shielding before

        This highlights the need for extreme care being taken around highly vulnerable people

    1. Hi Johnny, yes and Covid vaccine casualties in Norway are only the beginning. More and more countries are stopping the genetic treatment called “vaccination”.

  7. I think you could well be right Paul.
    I read yesterday that a vaccination unit in a hospital in the UK was not only very busy but had ” make your own ” tea and coffee facilities for those waiting. Seems extraordinary that bowls of tea bags etc were put out for anyone and everyone to touch . Nice thought for those waiting but ill thought out ! As you say , it does highlight the extreme care that needs to be afforded to the highly vulnerable .

  9. I personally will have the vaccine , that’s my choice . Others may decide that they won’t. They may be ordinary people and not conspiracy theorists or anti vaxxers . Being aggressive and name calling is not helpful Maurice .
    You do what you see fit as I will . I am fully aware of the suffering in Covid wards as my family work there .

  10. Reading these comments I can see how emotive a subject this is. I note that the 23 reported deaths may not all be attributed to the vaccine per se but down to the individuals overall health conditions.

    If people are against the vaccine on the basis of rumour on social media or in the main stream media then they need to consider the millions that have already received a dose with no adverse effects.

    It should also be remembered that the only way the world is going to get anywhere near back to normal is via a vaccine. if people choose not to have it then what is the solution?

  11. The anti-vaxxers and apologists are out in force and they should be called plainly what they are. Spreading fear, unwarranted suspicion and misinformation should be condemned, not tolerated int he least. I don’t have to and refuse to respect stupid ideas.

  12. Some of the anti-vaccination comments remind me of the profound difference between making a judgment based on one isolated bit of information (23 death) and a more thorough understanding based on reviewing the totality of facts underlying a particular situation.

    I read recently that Norway vaccinated most of its 48000 nursing home patients. It is also reported that at least 45 nursing home residents die daily (another site stated 400 per week). Given these statistics one should not be surprised or necessarily alarmed that 23 reportedly severely ill patients died in the period following vaccination. Based on the large number of vaccinated patients and expected average daily deaths one cannot reasonably claim an association or cause and effect relationship between vaccination and subsequent death.

    You may have your own personal reasons to oppose vaccination but 23 reported deaths of nursing home patients in Norway should not be one of them.

  13. I would like to throw a small spanner in the works, a small % of people that are vaccinated against flu (also a virus) then suffer from flu afterwards, just a thought.
    Also the various vaccines that are being bandied around the world have a so called 95% success rate which means statistically it doesn’t help 5 in every 100 people given it. Just another thought.

    1. John, the flu vaccines of the past were only claimed to have 50 to 60% effectiveness. Thing with flu is that there are so many variants. Last year in the UK the vaccine used didn’t match the strain of flu going around. This year the flu vaccine works differently and is far more effective at giving the required protection. This year is the first time I have bothered getting a flu jab.

  14. Hi Maurice, I just answered you on another blog, I don’t have a Flu jab ever because they just fill you with 4 or 5 different flu strains from previous years.
    I have to wonder whether people will decline the Covid vaccine if they have the same line of thought ie, Chinese, Brazilian, South African Viruses and only 1 vaccine for probably the Chinese Variant.

    1. Hi John, you seem to be the only one who is cautiously trying to open the discourse on the “pandemic”. I totally agree with you. For each and every flu strain, new vaccines are being promoted, but for Covid, there is the ONE vaccine which everybody should take. And of course, it is good for every strain or mutation … mRNA is a genetic treatment, not a vaccine! After the first session, there will be frequent updates, which will give people mRNA treatment for Covid-20, Covid-21 and than Flu-20, Flu-21 ….
