VACCINATED MAN ADMITTED TO THE COVID UNIT

An elderly man is hospitalized at the Covid-19 Multipurpose Unit of Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça, infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, allegedly after being given his first vaccine.

According to a hospital source revealed to JM, the elderly person will have been vaccinated on January 12th with the first dose of Pfizer vaccine, after being admitted to a home in Funchal on January 9th.

At that time, he had no symptoms related to the pandemic disease. However, on January 16, Saturday, the individual felt bad during the night and will have developed symptoms related to the Sars-Cov-2 virus, was treated while at home and later transported to the emergency department of Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça still that day, already in a very weak state.

After arriving at the emergency department, in a situation considered serious, he was observed by the medical team, who soon transferred him to the Covid Intensive Care Unit, where he is hospitalized with a reserved prognosis.
