There are 85 new positive cases to report and 115 recovered cases to report, this Saturday, in Madeira. All new positive cases are locally transmitted, most of them already associated with contacts of positive cases. Epidemiological investigations are still ongoing.
Currently, there are 1,630 active cases, of which 42 are imported cases and 1,588 are locally transmitted.
Regarding the isolation of these active cases, it should be noted that 49 people are hospitalized at Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça (48 people in Multipurpose Units and one in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to Covid-19) and 40 people are in isolation in a dedicated hotel unit, the rest remaining in their own accommodation.
As for patients from the mainland (Lisbon and Vale do Tejo Region), who have been admitted to the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital, since January 30, 2021, one patient remains in the Intensive Care Unit and the other in the Multipurpose Unit.
In total, there are 261 situations that are currently under consideration by health authorities, which are related to contacts with positive cases or other situations reported to the SRS24 line or to SESARAM. Epidemiological investigations are ongoing.
