Not good news when it looked like cases where beginning to ease off.
Today there are 111 new positive cases to report, so the Autonomous Region of Madeira now counts 6,253 confirmed cases of covid-19 in the regional territory, just released to the Regional Health Directorate (DRS).
These are cases of local transmission, most of which are already associated with positive case contacts.
There are also two more deaths to be reported since the last report, so RAM counts, to date, a total of 62 deaths associated with covid-19.
On a more positive note, there are 89 recovered cases to report, totaling 4,531 recovered cases of covid-19.
