Madeira Music Festival resumed after nine years of interruption

The first concert of the event promoted by the Associação Notas e Sinfonias Atlânticas with the approval of the Regional Secretariat of Tourism and Culture takes place at Sé do Funchal, at 9 pm.

The inaugural concert is sold out. 

After a nine-year hiatus, the Madeira Music Festival resumes this Saturday, March 2nd, for its 37th edition, taking place at Sé do Funchal. 

The event, which runs until March 23, is promoted by the Associação Notas e Sinfonias Atlânticas through the Orquestra Clássica da Madeira, under the artistic direction of violinist Norberto Gomes, with the approval of the Regional Secretariat of Tourism and Culture.

The inaugural concert of the 37th Madeira Music Festival, scheduled for 9pm today, will feature a performance by the Orquestra Clássica da Madeira together with the Coral de São José dos Açores, made up of 55 choristers, under the baton of maestro Martin André, and with the special participation of young soprano Tatiana Vizir, contralto Maria Luísa de Freitas, tenor Alberto Sousa and bass Ricardo Panela.
