Algae in the Port of Porto Moniz mobilized cleaning team

The sargassum that invaded, especially during yesterday, the port of Porto Moniz forced the activation of an APRAM cleaning team.

Therefore, as highlighted in a note sent to the editorial team, this team was, during this morning, committed to removing that type of algae from that area of APRAM’s jurisdiction, with this port on the north coast having already been cleaned.

It should be noted, however, that the team, made up of four employees from the Port Administration and a vehicle, had the support of Porto Moniz City Council, SANAS, PSP and several members of the public.

It should be noted that the sargassum invasion has also occurred on the island of Porto Santo, where local APRAM teams, with the support of other entities, have been cleaning since December last year.
