Dust from Africa continues to hit Madeira

The Madeira archipelago is now again influenced by the air mass originating in North Africa, which carries suspended particles and dust in the circulation.

A situation that has already happened last Friday and last Saturday.

According to the Portuguese Environment Agency (APA) “this configuration results in a weak circulation with a northern component in the archipelago of Madeira and the eastern quadrant in mainland Portugal, in the low levels of the atmosphere, favoring the advection and transport of the air mass formed over the deserts of North Africa, contributing to the increase of particles and dust in suspension ”.

Precipitation in some regions of mainland Portugal and in the Madeira archipelago will have dust concentrations in the atmosphere.
