Madeira has already administered 40,582 vaccines against Covid-19

Madeira administered 40,582 vaccines against Covid-19 between December 31, 2020 and March 21 (last Sunday), according to the latest vaccination bulletin for Covid-19. Around 10% of the population.

“Vaccinated people are part of the priority groups defined in the Regional Vaccination Plan against COVID-19 in RAM, according to the allocation of vaccines to the Region”, reads the vaccination bulletin.

Of the total vaccines administered (40,582), 25,153 correspond to the administration of the first dose and 15,429 were second doses of the vaccine.

The bulletin highlights the beginning of the vaccination of professionals working in the Education area (teachers and non-teachers), on 19 March.

Throughout this week, vaccination continued for users over 80 years old, with first and second doses. By March 21, 82% of residents in the Region, over the age of 80, had received the first dose of the vaccine, and 49.2% of this age group had already received the full vaccination. That is, 5,438 people have already received both doses.
