The Regional Health Directorate reports, in today’s bulletin, 22 new cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection in RAM, so the region now counts 8,308 confirmed cases of COVID-19. These are 2 imported cases (1 from Poland and 1 from the Lisbon and Tagus Valley region) and 20 cases of local transmission, most of which are already associated with positive case contacts. Epidemiological investigations are ongoing.
There are 26 more recovered cases to report. The region accounts for a total of 71 deaths associated with COVID-19.
There are 489 active cases, of which 19 are imported cases and 470 are locally transmitted. Regarding the isolation of active cases, it should be noted that 19 people are hospitalized at Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça (15 people in Multipurpose Units and 4 in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to COVID-19).
