17 New Cases of Covid-19 for Good Friday

This Good Friday, the Regional Health Directorate (DRS) reported 17 new cases of covid-19. The bulletin released a few moments ago also mentions that there are 32 more people recovered from this new disease. All cases identified today are of local transmission.

In total, there are now 380 active cases, of which only 18 are imported, the rest being local transmission.

There are 18 people admitted to the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital, 16 in Multipurpose Units and two in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to the covid-19. There are now 21 people in a dedicated hotel unit.

So the percentage of the population with Covid-19 at the moment is 0.15% is this correct.?

  1. 0.15% looks about right to me based on a 250k population.

    Btw this might be of interest to people who are in Madeira and want the jab but don’t have residency / health centre status. I saw it on the British In Portugal group…..

      1. Fingers crossed that it wont too much, with the warmer weather on the way numbers on the continent should start falling soon anyway before tourism picks up again

    1. Cause it shows we have hardly any infection on the island, that that is here is probably 90% contained in family and group chains. Now we see if this 3rd wave will affect us, numbers are already rising again in Portugal.

      1. Luckily in Madeira the numbers are getting lower day after day. Actually the incidence rate is
        66,8 (all cases)
        63,6 (local transmission)
        3,2 (imported cases)
        (calcualting with 250000 Inhabitants)
        Lets all continue to do our best to keep that tendency.
        I trust in all to take more care on easter than on christmas.

  3. Good figures, it will be interesting to see how things pan out when the curfew is lifted.
