The controversy is installed around the new
brand of Madeira, presented today. Among
hoteliers, tour agents, designers, university
Professors and even professionals linked to
animation cinema, from the United States to Macau, from England to France and beyond.
There are many comments from Madeirans, Portuguese from the continent and even from foreigners who spread on social networks criticizing the legibility of the logo presented and its eccentric character.
Despite the extensive descriptive memory
justifying the choices made, there are
many critics of this option from the
contracted company Bloom Consulting and
the creative agency BAR. And they are not
ignorant in the matter.
Among artists, designers and “marketers”, the need is emphasized for a logo like this to have “instant readability”, which, “does not happen”, criticizes the chosen lettering and even the inaccuracy in English that is
presented in the subtitle “Madeira Islands.
Belongs to all.
Dislike appears to be widespread, with very few exceptions. It seems that only the Regional Government was satisfied.
I’m actually finding it hard to believe, that peopke in the government and tourism board who would have obviously seen this before the launch, and it still went ahead.
Just another truly bad example of marketing on the island, and a very sad day for Madeira.
Put your vote in on the new logo here.
Negativity is over 90%, do you think the Regional Government will respond…???
