83 CMF workers cleaned up the city after New Year’s Eve festivities

At 7:00 am, around 83 workers from Funchal City Council (CMF), including drivers, cleaning workers, foremen and service managers, supported by 17 vehicles, began the cleaning operation after the New Year’s Eve celebrations.

The CMF, through the environment department, prepared the city’s cleaning work in good time, anticipating the huge amount of waste produced by the celebrations.

The work involved the removal of waste from the entire downtown area, the collection of materials deposited in litter bins and containers and, finally, the washing and disinfection of some critical unsanitary points.

The CMF, which reinforced the city with 195 containers, recalls that on this 1st of January there will be no door-to-door collection of waste.
