Covid cases decline

The information is from the Directorate-General for Health, which refers to 984 fewer cases compared to the previous week.

In the report released by the Directorate-General for Health for the period between 5 and 11 April, regarding cases of infection with the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, it is mentioned that the Autonomous Region of Madeira recorded 2,808 cases in those seven days (984 less in compared to the previous week) and five deaths (less four).

It is recalled that the Regional Health Directorate stopped providing this information, limiting itself to the daily bulletin regarding the number of hospitalizations and, eventually, also deaths.

In the same period of time, in the Azores there were 2,454 new cases (minus 468) and four deaths (minus two).

Nationally, the week in question accounts for 59,434 cases of infection and 145 deaths associated with covid-19.

According to the DGS, the age group between 40 and 49 years old continues to be the one with the highest number of cases within seven days (9,805), followed by people between 50 and 59 years old (8,701), while children up to nine years old were the group with the fewest infections (3,052), followed by the elderly aged 80 and over (4,054).
