Fuels reduced next week in Madeira

Fuels will be cheaper in the Autonomous Region of Madeira from next Monday, 26 September.

Check prices:

IO95 gasoline
1,642 euros

Road Diesel
1,652 euros

Colored and Marked Diesel
1,291 euros

Maximum fuel prices were published on the official website of the Regional Secretariat for the Economy.

  2. Heres one for Maurice, does anyone understand the way Continente loyalty card works and what the benefits are?

    1. Sorry Harry I am not resident on the island so do not have any loyalty cards from Madeira.

    Anyone else know, its a right conundrum, even others who have one, can’t fathom it out.

    1. I don’t use continent much, I use Pingo for the petrol every 40 euros you spend you get 2euros petrol at BP. On the Continente card they sometimes have 15% back on a total shop, so if you do a spend if 100 euros you get 15 on your card, that has to be spent the next week. The 10% ones, I think you can save up on your card for longer.

  4. Thanks Tobi, do you know how you redeem the money off, as that seems to be the puzzling bit, we have asked a few ex pats and even they are bewildered with it.

    1. We’ve used Continente card for years. Very simple. You accumulate savings when you shop and next time you shop you ask to ‘Usa Saldo’ (use savings). They post you vouchers or more recently you use the App on your smartphone and use the coupons at the till. As Tobi says the one tricky but is the 15% off week. Say you spend €100 .. you accumulate €15 but you can only use it the following week. After that it lapses. But all other vouchers and discounts stay on your account. Many Madeirans chose to keep accumulating the savings until Christmas when they know they’ll do big shops and it’s a form of saving for then. Personally I just use the savings every time I shop. Next time look at the very bottom of the display screen at the checkout and it shows how much savings you have … and it’s on the bottom of your till receipt. Hope this helps.
