  1. So what do you guys expect? A seaside Appartement for 600? It is the same everywhere, best places, highest prices. Show me an island with all year round good climate, where you find a 60 m2 house for 300 Euros, even if it is in the north in Sao Vicente… We have been staying in Arco da Calheta for two years and paid 880 per month for a T3 house with sea view, garden and garage. Finally we love the island that much, that we bought a house in Ribeira Brava. And to be honest: I guess Idealista is not the best platform for rental, it seems to be better if you like to buy something.

  2. This is really bad news and is a problem repeated all over where places become desirable to live. Its getting so bad in England that some people are even moving to Wales or worse still Scotland and then turning ginger!!

  4. There is only one nhs main hospital =
    Dr Nelio Mendonca, it is as good as a third world country, madeira is not fit, its good for a short holiday, but to live permanently is not advisable, government , local services , its a disgrace, and God forbid if you fall ill , = a nurse thinks they are doctors and the doctors think they are untouchable Gods , everything like fruits is imported from spain, not much of local product, the main business is from turism , so tourists need to be on their guard, including the retired, there is sharks lurking around, the levadas walks are dangerous, so many people die, fall of the revines but this is not too publicly reported, the roads are dangerous with not much of pedestrians pavement , motorways r also not the safest,
    what about the island famous alcohol poncha= sweet and dangerous to people’s heads, no much of a local product, and the very limited local farm land they use too much fertiliser for the vegetables to grow quickly ,
    drinking and eating in hotels v expensive , Airport services, customs and boarder = third world 🌎

  6. Very sad to read your comments about Madeira Carlos , my huband and I have lived on the Island for 16 plus years and wouldnt want to live anywhere else
    No where is perfect and I suppose you either love the Island and people or you dont , so if the latter applies go back to where you come from and do your moaning there
    We cannot thank the people enough for there kindness and hospitality
    So many changes have taken place in the Hospital system . we think they are doing a grand job
    I suppose you can only speak as you find , and we give all the medical staff BIG THANKS for being there for us
