BIKER’S DAY CELEBRATIONS BROUGHT TOGETHER MORE THAN 5 THOUSAND PARTICIPANTS

The balance of the Biker’s Day celebrations that took place this Sunday is quite positive.

Speaking to Calheta radio, NĂ©lio Olim, president of the Motorcycling Association of Madeira, the organizer of the event, revealed that 5,078 motorcyclists participated, a higher number than last year.

  1. The event is building momentum and it’s time to build on the momentum. Turn it into a weekend event with advertising for camping. There’s glamping near Prazeres and regular camping in Porto Moniz, I think. Locals could also open their fields for camping at reasonable prices.They should have competitions with prizes for best bikes in a number of categories. This will draw more international participation. The ferry companies should give a special discount for bikers to bring their bikes from the mainland. The bike customizers in Lisbon, Porto and Algarve should have a presence, plus Harley, Indian, Ducati, etc, etc should have stalls. They should meet with BikeFest organizers in Faro or other places for planning and organizing purposes.

    1. Why, why should they make it international, there’s no ferry route anyway for your ideas.
      This event is for locals to enjoy, let’s let them have something for themselves on their own island for once without turning it into a tourist fest.
      Many most likely had to take the time off work to go – my friend did as people who work in tourism don’t have a weekend or funds to turn it into the Hollywood production like what you are suggesting. 🙄
