Rádio Renascença guarantees on its website, citing an “official source” that Madeira Civil Protection asked Lisbon for help to fight the fires in Calheta.
The fire raging in the municipality of Calheta is being fought by 92 operators from all fire departments in the region, supported by 26 vehicles and aerial means.
