IPMA issues yellow alert for Madeira due to heavy rain

The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) placed the island of Madeira under warning, from zero o’clock this Tuesday, December 5th, due to “periods of persistent and sometimes heavy rain”, which on the North coast of the island will be in the western part.

The yellow warning, as the first meteorological warning on a scale of three, means that there is a risk situation for certain activities depending on the meteorological situation, so it is necessary to monitor the evolution of meteorological conditions.

According to IPMA, this warning is in force until noon tomorrow.
