Nuno Leal, married and with two children, thought he was being the victim of a joke when he received a call from Pingo Doce informing him that he had won the prize of 40 thousand euros, from the ‘Jogo da Glória’. But it was, in fact, true.
The professor, born in Coimbra and residing in Madeira for more than 20 years, said that the value of the prize will be deducted from the house payment.
He says he was at the Pingo Doce do Lido store because he was sick and knew that the store sold medicines.
The illness ended up adding 40 thousand euros to his account.
The winner was at the store this afternoon to receive the prize.
