The importance of Market Night, in Funchal, justified the creation of its own website here.
There will be 16 hours of uninterrupted entertainment, but without disco music, as highlighted by Pedro Calado, in the presentation session, this afternoon, at the City Hall.
A giant screen at the market door, to broadcast the songs that take place in the fish square, is one of the new features of this year’s edition.
Market Night will take place from 8:00 am on the 23rd (Saturday) until 4:00 am on the 24th (Sunday), with 11 stalls selling fruit and vegetables on Rua Latino Coelho, 9 for pine trees and branches and 31 for restaurants.
There are 20 food and drink stalls on Rua F Ornelas and 11 on Rua D. Carlos l. In total there are 57 points of sale. There will also be 3 places selling toys, on Rua D. Carlos I and 3 small food and drink outlets next to the Almirante Reis car park, Praça da Autonomia and Avenida do Mar.
At the entrance to the market, at 8:30 pm, donations will be given to three institutions; 17 thousand to the Nossa Senhora da Conceição Foundation; 3 thousand for the Lions; and 3 thousand for the São José Cultural and Sports Center. These funds result from auctions for sales spaces, last year and this year.
At 10:45 pm a distinction will be given to the Confraria dos Cantares.
