  2. They need to get a plan that can collect the tourists in certain areas of Madeira that can take these tourists over there to avoid this and this bus system should be used for this . I was there in August and was overwhelmed by the view of so many cars and buses and neither did I stop there to see anything to avoid all the popular levadas to my dismay . Eventually all this mass tourism will be damaging the hiking trails and also destroying nature . The Madeira government eventually will be obliged to charge the popular levadas to maintain them and to have a controlled number of visitors to the popular levadas during the day and this will eventually will happen like it did in Canical . ??

  3. I have been there today (11. September) at 7.00 in the morning. Already at that hour, on both parkings it was a huge mess. They were both (up at Arieiro and the new one 1 km down) almost complete. Approximately 500 people came to watch the sunrise. We started our mountaineering tour to Pico Cidrao at 7.30. Around 8.00 we could watch the path between Arieiro and the Ninho da Manta full of people, almost one after the other. Most of them badly equipped. Due to the weather forecast (rainy from midday on), I was almost certain that today would provoke an intervention by the rescue teams. Luckily it did not.
    We returned to Arieiro at 13.00 with clouds all around the mountain chains. The parking at Arieiro was 50 % empty.

      Complete right about that many of them neither take the right clothing even less the equipment or even the hiking boots and neither a backpack and they hope for the best no under accidents happen .

  4. Very sad to see that this small beautyfull Island is now full of too much Tourists Since the Last few years , Hope once it goes back to normal ?? Conny
