Man blindfolds statue of justice

A man recently placed a blindfold on the statue in front of the Palace of Justice, in Funchal.

The author of this unusual act made a point of remaining at the top of the statue, taking selfies and greeting passers-by who stopped to try to understand what was happening.

The individual’s shirt read in English: “Stop corruption Freedom Madeira Now”, which translated into Portuguese means “Parem a corrupção Libertem a Madeira já”.

The stay at the statue ended after a plainclothes police officer arrived at the scene, and the man left the place without resistance.
