A large stretch of sand on the island of Porto Santo has disappeared in recent days as a result of the strong waves caused by the passage of Depression ‘Irene’ through the Madeira archipelago.
The photographs Jornal Madeira share were taken this Thursday, January 18, by Manuel Araújo, an inhabitant of Ilha Dourada. The images reveal that the impact of the waves were recorded most significantly between Porto de Abrigo and the Torre Praia hotel.
